Atrise Wakeup is a very small but functional alarm clock with an easy-to-use interface that allows you to set an alarm and play a music or video file when the alarm is activated. The alarm can be set for a specific hour and minutes in 24-hour format. And when the alarm is activated the music file is played in loop until the stop button is pressed.
The program doesn't require an external file player, it includes its own. You can test if the media file selected can be played before the time alarm occurs. You can also adjust the volume but you have to consider two important and external aspects: the sound card and the speakers. So, it’s better to adjust parameters such as the volume before you intend to activate the alarm.
The program window doesn't need to be open all the time. It can be minimized to avoid taking up space on your desktop, and you can access it again from the icon in the system tray.
The supported media files are: mp3, ogg, wma, avi, wmv, and mpg. And its requirements are few: disk space, Windows OS of any version, sound card, and speakers.
The only disadvantage I found is that to activate the alarm, your computer has to be on all the time.
